18.0 PATENTS 

1. The implementing agency, with prior approval of CMPDI, may apply for a patent of any process/product developed under the coal S&T project. CMPDI may impose such conditions as it may deem fit. 

2. While applying for the patents, the implementing agency should clearly mention the name of the S&T project under which various processes/products were developed and the fact that funds for the development, for which patent is proposed to be taken were provided by the Ministry of Coal. 

3. CMPDI, government agencies and public sector undertakings shall not be charged any royalty on the use of process, product etc., on which patent has been taken out as above. 

4. The implementing agencies should fully share the know-how with CMPDI.
