16.0 REVISION OF COST OF PROJECT/REAPPROPRIATION OF FUNDS

Proposal for augmenting / revision of the
overall sanctioned cost of the project would not be entertained as a matter of policy, save in exceptional
cases. Request for revision of cost should be sent using proforma(Form VIII), in 50 copies,
through the Head of the Institution.

The items for which reappropriation is allowed
in order to augment the provision, should not result in exceeding the limits of expenditure on that
particular item laid down in the guidelines for implementing coal research projects. The overall
ceiling on items such as travel, contigency, organising and attending the seminars, symposia should
not be exceeded.

"CMD, CMPDI is however,
authorized to approve increase in cost solely due to exchange rate variation which should be subsequently
ratified by SSRC. For this purpose implementing agency will be required to submit to CMPDI item wise details of imported equipment provided in the approved
proposal along with their value in foreign currency and equivalent Indian rupee, present value of each of these
equipment in foreign currency, Indian rupee and prevailing rate of exchange etc. Any approval of revision of the cost by CMPDI
on this account should be communicated to SSRC Sub-Committee and SSRC in its next meeting with required calculations and
figures".
